Aug 2 - Summerside
Biggest day of the trip, with options to do half the ride, or go shopping, so started with summer-side up egg sandwich. 55 degrees and sunny at 6.30am, going up to 72 - how good is that. 10 miles to the Confederation Trail, then great riding on this former railroad. Workers were paid by the mile, which means it's longer than it needs to be. 28 miles to lunch at breakwater in summerside. Highlights- Super cute town of Kensington (and nap stop), Jason and Jon did the inaugural ride of the river 'viking trail', which of course wasn't, super fun 1٪ downhills. Swapped some riders and back on the trail by 1.30 then back to hunter river for ice cream and the last push on the hills. Yummy Lasagna dinner with pink drinks because we're going to BARBIE at the drive in. 76 miles.
